AAVS SPORTS & OUTDOORS NAVIGATOR
Through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust AAVS have been awarded a grant to employ a sports & outdoors navigator who will work to enhance the opportunities and outdoors opportunities for veterans across Northern Ireland.
Dennis the AAVS Navigator will aim to:

Research and promote the availability of sport and outdoor activities across NI

Link veterans to community/ veterans sport and outdoor activities across NI

Build trust

Social prescribing champion working alongside the NHS
-
Access hard to reach groups of veterans
-
Reduce social isolation, build community integration and individual resilience
​
The AAVS Sports & Outdoors Navigator will actively work in collaboration with other veteran support organisations across Northern Ireland, their Walking with the Wounded counterpart (Arts, Culture and Heritage Navigator) and the NIVSO to enhance and promote the availability of sporting and outdoor activities throughout Northern Ireland.
